Reading is the doorway to many possibilities and the silver lining to a dark cloud of self doubt and the unknown. It broadens your horizon and exposes you to different cultures, theories and endless discoveries.

In support of Reading Literacy I recently offered my children's novel Dragon Boyz as a special prize to the Maple Leaf International School. So apart from enjoying the experiencing of seeing the pride on their students' faces, I liked showing the young learners what they can achieve if they allow their creative juices to flow.

It was a great honor to present the Grade 3 student with Dragon Boyz, and appreciated the welcome I received from their Librarian, Gena Mohammed and the Maple Leaf school body.

My Version of Fall.

I have been seeing on other blogs beautiful pictures of the ever changing and eye stimulating Fall season. Honestly living in Trinidad limits your experiences of the changing seasons and seeing how spring turns to summer to fall and then winter. All I have is endless summer greenery. All I have is the constant warm weather and lush green rain forests. So I have been living vicariously through other blog admiring the Fall pictures and sometimes questioning if it is really true. Then I had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and got to spend the day just lying on a beach and soaking in the sun. So I decided to give you all my version of Fall. And see what we get during the Fall Season. Enjoy. I visited a beach house in Blanchisseuse Beach and it was attached to 3 different bays. It was fun just splashing in the waves, and fun exploring each bay in the warming sun. This was a bird's eye view of the bay that had clear green water and little watery caves to hide under. When they smile... I smile

Just a gentle tug at the mouth is all it takes, To fill and make your heart break... To see their faces lit up with so much joy, And its them playing that brings smiles.. not a toy. They innocences of just lying in the grass, Makes me just want them to just stay there till the daylight lass... The cool ground beckons them to relax and stay, And there they lay just giggling and they play. What I would give to watch them like this all day, Because their smiles are precious in every way.
