About Me

Graced with many years of experience, I now have the ability to say, ‘been there and done that’… well for most everything.

Basically my life has always been a constant search for answers to questions that envelop the 4 main aspect of my life.

•    Mother – it has been a never-ending roller coaster ride with my kids. Usually I am on the search for advice, reassurance and hope that what I am providing for my kids emotionally, physically and mentally is a healthy development and growth in a positive direction. My best advice, just follow your heart as only you know what is best for you and your loved ones.

•    Teacher – as a teacher I do not see the students as sponges, to just soak up everything I give them. Instead I see myself and them as experiencing and learning new things, and exploring new concepts in preparation for their ever changing world. From every walk of life I learn about love, life and relationships. From everything there is something to learn. In other words … ‘As much as I teach… I am taught.’

•    Believer in love – my passion for love is something that stems from my family upbringing, as well as the belief in keeping the family together. As a child I was taught to accept, love and commit myself unconditional  to love and understanding. Now I see things differently. Falling in love is easy... it is staying in love that is challenging. However, I do believe that once your partner respect you, wants to spend time with you and understand the true meaning of commitment... then you will experience better days ahead. Keep believing and make sure the decisions you make are the right now for YOU!

•    Writer – my love for writing has always been something I am passionate about. Majoring in Literature, I have not only learnt to admire and love the classical novels written by the Bronte Sisters, Shakespeare and those books centered during the Victorian Era, I have also put pen to paper and tested my skill in writing. People always said left handed people are creative because we operate with the left side of our brain… well consider me left footed too.

In all these four pieces of me join and complete the person I am today. There are no smooth edges as life is not one long visible path, it twist and turns like a meandering road with no one being able to see what is just around the next bend.

This blog is a chance for me to share some things I experience (love, hope, fear, loss, anger, sadness, joy and most importantly faith). It’s an insight to many questions that plague me, creative pieces that inspire me, and tip bits on the real world that affect me.

I hope you enjoy as we embark on this journey.

Sincerely,

Jillian

  2. That was nicely put! I enjoyed reading about you. I also read about your son and his medication for seizures. My cousin has been going through seizures and been to doctors, etc., so I'll keep him in prayer too.

I thought left handed people were controlled by the right side of the brain, which would make sense from what you wrote, because that is the creative side.

    Have a great day!

  3. I love your comment ‘As much as I teach… I am taught.’

I have always said 'You know a great teacher when his/her students teach him something.' And I truly believe we learn by teaching.

When they smile... I smile

Just a gentle tug at the mouth is all it takes, To fill and make your heart break... To see their faces lit up with so much joy, And its them playing that brings smiles.. not a toy. They innocences of just lying in the grass, Makes me just want them to just stay there till the daylight lass... The cool ground beckons them to relax and stay, And there they lay just giggling and they play. What I would give to watch them like this all day, Because their smiles are precious in every way.

Guardian Angel working Overtime!!

Saturday morning this occurred while I was on my way with the kids to my family's home in San Fernando. My car is the Blue Madza and my kids were in the back seat!! I had just stopped at a traffic light with 4 cars ahead of me, waiting for the lights to turn green, when the Green car smashed into me from behind.  All I can say is that we were all frightened by a loud bang from behind, and just as I turned my head to look at my kids in the back, I saw my car skidding on the wet road heading towards the car infront of me. There was no stopping and unfortunately my car struck the car infront of me :( From that point on there was alot of screaming from the kid behind, me trying to calm them, and me trying to get my husband on the phone. Even today I still cannot believe it happened. Clearly the woman who struck me from behind did not see me stopping along with the other cars, clearly she was distracted doing something else than focusing on the road. ...
