20 Questions.

When was the last time you cried?
I cried last weekend for a movie. Funny enough I cannot remember the name but I do remember feeling a bit silly for shedding tears J The one movie that always brings tears to my eyes though is Georgia’s Rule. It is really a moving show.

Are you named after anyone?
My middle name is Nicole and my mother always says it’s the female version St. Nicholas. Not surprisingly I love Christmas and would start celebrating it from the beginning of November. My family have a tradition of putting up the tree in each other house (Started by me… so I really do bring the Christmas Spirit to my loved ones J)

Do you have kids?
Yes I have 2 kids. Dylan is 8 and a loving handful. He can be very challenging especially when trying to get him to be more responsible but he is the most affectionate child. My daughter is 2 and will definitely not be ignored. She is full of life and has the brightest smile ever. They really fill my life.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Yes I would because my true friends know the meaning of ‘my door is always open’. I always try to help when I can and I am always looking to get away to take in a movie or a light dinner with my friends.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Too much… so much that it irritates my husband!! L

Will you ever Bungee jump?
I want to say no.. but I do not know what I will do if in the moment. I might just say “what the heck” and go for it.

What’s your favourite cereal?
As a kid I loved Pops, but now there is really nothing that I crave.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I always find myself glancing at their face. In a multicultural place like Trinidad and Tobago, I like to see what type or mix the person is.

What is your eye colour?
Dark brown.

Scary movie or happy ending?
Both… sometimes I like a little scare and sometimes I like to feel my heart swell with happiness. The most recent movie I enjoyed was ‘Something Burrowed’. It was really nice.

Favourite smells?
I love to smell peppermint around Christmas Time.

Summer or Winter?
I only experience Rainy or Dry season. I prefer the dry so the kids can go out and play. The only time I enjoy a rainy day is when I can snuggle in and stay in bed all day.
(PS.. the few times I experienced winter was memorable and fantastic… need one again.)

Computer or television?
I am a Computer Teacher at a primary school so I am never far from one. However these days when I do get free time it is not TV it is Kindle!!

What’s the furthest you’ve ever been away from home?
London. From Trinidad it is over 8 hours away. I stayed for 10 months just to get away and it was life changing. I really learnt how to be more independent.

Where were you born?
Sweet T&T!!

Do you have any special talents?
I can move my hairline, ears and raise one eyebrow at a time. It freaks out my boy.

What are your hobbies?
Blogging (anytime I can squeeze it in).
Shopping (Only when I am in the US… here tooo expensive). Film (I do once a month with my ghulfrens).
TV & Reading combo (if it is not one it’s the other).
Travelling (When I can afford it L).

Do you have any pets?
Nope. The compounds we live do not allow pets. We did have a fish but he died last month. (I still have to buy one to replace it.)

Favourite movie?
I have a lot… Twilight movies is up there, Pride and Prejudice is in the running, but the one I always put on to this day is
My Fair Lady!!!

Do you have any siblings?
I have 3 brother and 3 sister. I am from a large family with over 100 extended cousins. So my family is pretty big. Lets just say I was always a good girl because I was too afraid to be bad in case one of my cousin saw and told on me. Trinidad is too small to take the chance

  2. Hi Jillian! Love this list :) I too enjoy the Twilight movies and have a huge extended family on my Dad's side (he had 16 brothers and sisters) but luckily for me they all live in a different province so there weren't too many extra eyes on me!

My Version of Fall.

I have been seeing on other blogs beautiful pictures of the ever changing and eye stimulating Fall season. Honestly living in Trinidad limits your experiences of the changing seasons and seeing how spring turns to summer to fall and then winter. All I have is endless summer greenery. All I have is the constant warm weather and lush green rain forests. So I have been living vicariously through other blog admiring the Fall pictures and sometimes questioning if it is really true. Then I had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and got to spend the day just lying on a beach and soaking in the sun. So I decided to give you all my version of Fall. And see what we get during the Fall Season. Enjoy.  I visited a beach house in Blanchisseuse Beach and it was attached to 3 different bays. It was fun just splashing in the waves, and fun exploring each bay in the warming sun. This was a bird's eye view of the bay that had clear green water and little watery caves to hide under. My son

Anticipating Grenada!

As most mothers and parents secretly wish, Getting away without the kids is usually hard to accomplish. But this weekend my husband and I eagerly await, A vacation in Grenada for 2, we were able to create!!!! I cannot wait for the clear blue sea, I cannot wait for it to be just him and me. I cannot wait for the sunny sky, To just lie on the beach and watch the day go by. I wish for all to be able to see, How important it is for the adults to be free. To take some time and enjoy just being together, Making sure they remember why they chose to be ... forever. My countdown for Grenada is on.... 3 days to go!!!
