One of my Relax Vices...

Normally I am an avid reader. I would try to read as much as my hectic life would allow. I recently got enthralled in the Nightwalker Series by Jacquelyn Frank and found myself waking at 3am to try and finish one of her books.

But there are times when reading is not the go to thing I want to do... the thing is... sometimes get bored of just reading words. I sometimes just want to lie back and watch TV. Well not TV exactly but movies I have collected and put aside to one day... watch. This is the one vice that allows be to focus on only one thing and indulge in another literally world visually. So I had what my husband called ....
"A Kristen Stewart Weekend."

I would not exactly say I intentionally picked Kristen Steward movies!! It's just that the movies I chose to watch had her as the main character. So yes I had a  KS movie night... but I enjoyed it throughly.


In that I watched Snow White and the Huntsman...


Then I watched New Moon....


Finally I looked at Eclipse!!!


It was great ... and I got the chance to just forget everything and enjoy the moment. After spending day after day looking after kids... this was deservingly sinful!!!

I hope everyone gets a chance to take a break... forget the worries and the To-do list and just enjoy life.

    Loved Snow White and the Huntsman! Not a big fan of Kristen Stewart personally, even before the indiscretion :)

    I love to read too and I totally get what you're saying about needing a break from it all sometimes and totally veg out on the couch. Thanks for following me on 'The Magic Fix'. I'm so glad that you stopped by and that you introduced me to your fantastic blog. I like to keep my posts really positive too. There is enough negativity in the world without me adding to it, me think!! x

Family Traditions!!!!

If it is one thing I look forward to around this time is the Carreira's Christmas Tree Family Tradition! Founded by ME :) my sisters and my mom started visiting (or going house to house) homes to help decorate the Christmas Tree as well as decorate the home. When my son was not even a year old was when this tradition began... in my home in Port of Spain. Now 8 years later it has become a Family get together, food and drinks sharing .... and putting up the decorations. I LOVE it. Coming from a home with many siblings (3 brother and 3 sister ... most married with children) it is great when most gather and the house is filled with everyone. Lets just say it is a lot of laughs, bickering, laughs ... silent moments when our mouths are filled with food ... and then delegation on the work area. Did I mention I LOVE it. Guardian Angel working Overtime!!

Saturday morning this occurred while I was on my way with the kids to my family's home in San Fernando. My car is the Blue Madza and my kids were in the back seat!! I had just stopped at a traffic light with 4 cars ahead of me, waiting for the lights to turn green, when the Green car smashed into me from behind.  All I can say is that we were all frightened by a loud bang from behind, and just as I turned my head to look at my kids in the back, I saw my car skidding on the wet road heading towards the car infront of me. There was no stopping and unfortunately my car struck the car infront of me :( From that point on there was alot of screaming from the kid behind, me trying to calm them, and me trying to get my husband on the phone. Even today I still cannot believe it happened. Clearly the woman who struck me from behind did not see me stopping along with the other cars, clearly she was distracted doing something else than focusing on the road. ...

Listening to your Inner Voice.... again

Funny enough I had another 'listen to your inner voice' this weekend and again I am grateful I did. The weather down here has been feeling like a sauna so I got the opportunity to take the kids to a pool at a friend's house. You just never know how something so innocent or normal could possible turn into a life changing event. You see my daughter loves the water. I really think she is a water baby because you cannot keep her away if there is a body of water nearby. The other thing is once she sets her mind on something she is very determined to follow through. So while all the kids were inside getting their sunblock on... my daughter decided to take a little stroll by herself to the pool. I on the other hand was just about to take a bathroom break and gave a quick glance around the room before closing in. Then I paused. In my glance around I could not recall seeing a little person in a pink princess bath suit. I could not recall seeing Sydney. So I stepped out and asked...
