There is Wisdom in Nature...

I took the kids to the golf course this weekend for a little change in scenery and to get some fresh air. The kids just loved walking along the path and watching everything around them.

What they were most aware of was how quiet the place was. I liked the silence. Being a teacher and mother and always living in constant noise it is great when you find yourself in a place where the silence is ever-present. It also gives you a chance to look around and appreciate nature.

This was when certain things struck me. There were images that I thought sent a message or captured an emotion ... once you looked at it in a different perspective. (or for me ... I just put more thought than necessary... but I liked thinking it).

This one made me think of LOVE. Two kissing trees that stand the test of time. No matter what they will always be there for each other.

This one made me think of personal loss. I recently lost one of my aunt to Cancer and I lost my father 13 years ago to Cancer as well and this image just made me think of the lives that have fallen from the 'tree-of-life'.

And this one I interpreted as "The road less travelled is sometimes hard and lonely... but it does build character."

I thought of this when I saw my little girl running happily along ahead of me. She was alone and running without any fear... not looking back and I wondered if she would be as brave in the life's journey ahead of her.

I hope she is. I hope she remains strong and confident and never loose her precious smile.

  1. It's nice that nature has you reflecting so personally. It must be very therapeutic to associate your thoughts like that...and I love the last one. :)

  8. Ah I love your perspective on each shot. I too miss the quiet of nature when I'm always surrounded by noisy little tots all day long. I can't wait for this summer and to take some evening bike rides on some trails around my house. I really hope to get some good photos.

    Thanks for sharing!

My Version of Fall.

I have been seeing on other blogs beautiful pictures of the ever changing and eye stimulating Fall season. Honestly living in Trinidad limits your experiences of the changing seasons and seeing how spring turns to summer to fall and then winter. All I have is endless summer greenery. All I have is the constant warm weather and lush green rain forests. So I have been living vicariously through other blog admiring the Fall pictures and sometimes questioning if it is really true. Then I had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and got to spend the day just lying on a beach and soaking in the sun. So I decided to give you all my version of Fall. And see what we get during the Fall Season. Enjoy.  I visited a beach house in Blanchisseuse Beach and it was attached to 3 different bays. It was fun just splashing in the waves, and fun exploring each bay in the warming sun. This was a bird's eye view of the bay that had clear green water and little watery caves to hide under. My son

Anticipating Grenada!

As most mothers and parents secretly wish, Getting away without the kids is usually hard to accomplish. But this weekend my husband and I eagerly await, A vacation in Grenada for 2, we were able to create!!!! I cannot wait for the clear blue sea, I cannot wait for it to be just him and me. I cannot wait for the sunny sky, To just lie on the beach and watch the day go by. I wish for all to be able to see, How important it is for the adults to be free. To take some time and enjoy just being together, Making sure they remember why they chose to be ... forever. My countdown for Grenada is on.... 3 days to go!!!
